Allianz wins Darren Bent credit hire appeal
Allianz has today (18 March) won a ruling at the Court of Appeal which returns the credit hire related case of England striker Darren Bent back to court in Cambridge.
As reported by sister publication Post, the Sunderland footballer and Allianz policyholder, having been involved in a road traffic accident in February 2007, hired an Aston Martin DB9 after being referred to credit hire firm Accident Exchange.
Allianz has challenged the period of hire, rate of hire and need for the hire but lost the original case at Cambridge County Court on 10 July last year. It was granted permission to appeal on 5 October.
