Markel raids Allianz for hull and war underwriter
Markel International, the specialty property and casualty insurer, has appointed Daniel McCarthy as an underwriter in the hull and war team within its marine and energy division.
According to the company, Mr McCarthy has over ten years' experience in marine insurance, most recently as marine hull underwriter at Allianz. His appointment follows that of Tom Davies, who joined the marine and energy division as a liability underwriter earlier this year.
Jason Page, who heads the hull and war team, commented: "I am delighted to welcome Daniel to the team and am certain that he will make a significant contribution to enhancing our book and the service we provide to our brokers
