Aviva attempts to close the ash gap with new volcano add on

Insurer charges more for covering ash cloud or similar travel disruptions with an add-on to its travel policies.

Aviva has developed an 'ash add-on' to its travel policy following the Icelandic volcano which closed air space for days.

From 1 June Aviva will be providing an optional add-on to their standard travel insurance designed to offer its customers protection should their holiday travel be affected by UK airspace, port or airport closure.

From 1 June customers with annual or single trip policies will be able to purchase a new add-on travel cover which will be available to all customers who are
