Risk management/claims: Stress on a par with accidents in hindering productivity at work
Four out of five (79%) European managers are concerned about work-related stress - making it as important a productivity problem as workplace accidents.
The European Survey on Enterprises and New and Emerging Risks, which was published by the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work, has revealed that 42% of management representatives consider it more difficult to tackle psychosocial risks, compared with other health and safety issues.
Some 53% said that the sensitivity of the issue was the main barrier for dealing effectively with psychosocial problems while half said that lack of awareness was the main contributing factor.
