Employment tribunal claims soar
Figures released by the Tribunals Service show that 236,100 employment tribunal (ET) claims lodged in the year 1st April 2009 to 31st March 2010, an increase of 56% from the previous year.
In the report the Tribunals Service stated this was "largely as a result of the rise in multiple claims - these rose by nearly 90% on 2008-09, but also partly as a result of the changing economic climate. There was also an increase of 14% in single claims over the year".
