Fall in profits and revenue at Confused.com

Price comparison website Confused has announced a 10% fall in revenue and 20% decline in profit during the first six months of the year.

Confused also slipped from being the leading price comparison site for car insurance by market share in 2009 to being second in the first half of 2010.

Revenue at Confused in the six months to the end of June 2010 reduced by around 10% to £36.6 million (H1 2009: £40.2 million) whilst pre-tax profit fell to £8.8 million. The operating margin also fell to around 25%.

Non-car insurance revenue was stable as a proportion of total revenue when compared to the same period in 2009.
