It is no secret that Lloyd's has made repeated attempts to beckon regional brokers in to the fold. In 2001, its decision to relax the barriers around accreditation may have alarmed diehard traditionalists but it caused little more than a ripple beyond Lime Street. Similarly, when it opened its doors much more widely to non-Lloyd's brokers in 2008, not that many chose to enter its steely towers.
