Aon Q3 results show 8% fall in UK broking revenue

Greg Case

Aon has announced that income from its risk and insurance brokerage in the UK fell 8% to $148m for the third quarter of 2010 [Q3 2009: $167m].

In the first nine months of this year broking revenue from commissions and fees in the UK was down by 6% from $464m to $436m compared to the same period in 2009.

In a statement the company said: "UK organic revenue decreased 8% due primarily to weak economic conditions and soft pricing."

Globally Aon's broking revenues for the quarter were stable at $1.5bn with an operating margin of 17.4% while total revenue was $1.8bn.
