Aggregators are criticised for their poor online security
Price comparison sites Confused.com and Comparethemarket.com have been accused of leaving the door open to criminals by sacrificing security in favour of ease of use.
According to PC Pro magazine, which investigated three aggregator sites - Gocompare.com, Confused and Comparethemarket - Gocompare "got it right", using email validation as an extra layer of protection, but Confused and Comparethemarket had some "gaping security holes".
Davey Winder, contributing editor at PC Pro, logged onto Confused, resetting the password in the process, and retrieved a quote by just entering an email address, date of birth, and surname as there was no email validation
