Car claim volumes double as snow and ice turn UK roads into ‘fairground dodgems’, says AA
Snow and ice have contributed to a 100 per cent increase in car insurance claims compared to an ordinary Monday in December, AA Insurance has reported.
The company is predicting one of its busiest days with around 650 new motor claims expected to have been registered today - more than double the average of 314, as the widespread bad weather continues.
Additional claims managers have been drafted in to the AA's Cardiff call centre, which itself is suffering from some of the worst snow in the area, to deal with the increased workload.
According to AA Insurance director Simon Douglas, of all the claims being reported, 71 per cent of customers say
