Travel claims soar by 30%, according to Cunningham Lindsey
Claims International, the travel business arm of Cunningham Lindsey, has revealed that severe weather conditions led to a 30% increase in the number of travel claims handled last month.
The loss adjuster noted that 85% of these claims covered out of pocket expenses incurred at airports while passengers waited for delayed flights after the heavy snowfall in December caused travel chaos.
It added that the remainder of claims largely related to the cancellation of travel plans, such as independently booked accommodation arrangements, which could not be reclaimed from the airline or travel organiser.
