Ecclesiastical creates new compliance role

Ecclesiastical has appointed John Schofield to the newly created role of director of group internal audit and compliance.

The insurer confirmed the new role, which involved overseeing its broker subsidiaries Lycetts and SEIB, would give Mr Schofield the responsibility for leading the internal audit and compliance functions across the group.

He will also oversee the technical claims and underwriting audits and be the company's central point of contact for the Financial Services Authority (FSA).
