Aviva’s Matthews appointed to government commission
Trevor Matthews, chief executive officer for Aviva UK has been appointed to the Department for Business, Innovation and Skill’s UK Commission for Employment and Skills.
Mr Matthews, who was announced as the replacement for Towergate-bound Mark Hodges at Aviva in June, was appointed as a commissioner along with eight others by Business Secretary Vince Cable and Work and Pensions Secretary, Iain Duncan Smith.
Joining an existing team of 16 commissioners, led by Charlie Mayfield, chairman of the John Lewis Partnership, he will work with the government to raise skill levels, help drive enterprise, create more and better jobs and promote economic growth.
