Jack Straw to speak at Post claims event
Former Justice Secretary and outspoken critic of referral fees Jack Straw will address the annual Insurance Age’s sister title Post’s Claims Event on 12 October.
The Labour MP for Blackburn recently came back to prominence after he spoke out about the "dirty secret" that drives up motor insurance in The Times.
In the article he called for referral fees to be outlawed, and the no-win no-fee system speedily reformed, as recommended by Lord Justice Jackson's 2010 review.
Mr Straw has also called for the law on damages for whiplash to be changed to require proof of serious injury, as other jurisdictions do.
