North West top for bodily injury claims
Research from the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries has shown the North West of England to be the leading hot spot for private car insurance claims involving bodily injury.
The research showed that 43% of third party claims in the region in 2010 involved bodily injury whereas in North East Scotland the figure was only 13%.
The findings also revealed that claims hot spot areas matched areas with the highest concentration and activity of claims management companies. The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries stated that, in general, more claims management companies meant more personal injury claims.
Scotland had the lowest proportion of private motor insurance claims
