Kiln stakes claim for mobile phone insurance first
Kiln has claimed it has delivered an industry first with the launch of an insurance product to protect mobile phone users against losses arising from ID theft and unauthorised payments.
The underwriting group stated that the increase in smartphone sales, combined with the evolution of contactless payment technology, had given rise to increasing concern over ID theft as more people stored sensitive personal details on their mobile phones.
The news followed Google's announcement last month that it had launched a new smartphone application which allowed US customers to pay for products in stores using their mobile phones.
Kiln claimed that its product would enable retailers
