Aon moves corporate HQ to London

Aon has announced it will move its corporate headquarters to London to gain greater access to emerging markets and take better advantage of strategic proximity to Lloyd’s and the London market.

The broking giant described London as "one of the key international hubs of insurance and risk brokerage" and said that the move from Chicago will strengthen its ability to grow.

The company also confirmed that Chicago will continue as headquarters of the Americas and there would not be any job losses from the move.

The announcement comes two months after it was revealed that Aon had taken 10 floors in the "Cheese Grater", a new building in Leadenhall due to be completed in 2014 and just yards
