Quinn seeks to defend himself against Anglo Irish claims
Seán Quinn has told the Commercial Court in Dublin he wishes to personally defend the former Anglo Irish Bank’s claim that he has a liability for loans of €2.34bn (£1.98bn).
The Irish Times reported that the bankrupt businessman made an unexpected court appearance yesterday at the action taken by his wife and children to avoid liability for the loans.
Mr Justice Peter Kelly read a letter sent by Mr Quinn asking for permission to personally defend the case, and called him to sit in the front bench with the lawyers for Anglo.
