Aviva mistakenly 'sacks' 1,300 people as it steadies itself for £1bn US loss
More than 1,300 employees at Aviva have been mistakenly told that they had been dismissed via email.
The Telegraph reported that the email, which was sent to all staff at Aviva Investors, told recipients to turn over company property and reminded them not to reveal any company secrets.
The email read: “I am required to remind you of your contractual obligations to the company you are leaving. You have an obligation to retain any confidential information pertaining to Aviva Investors operations, systems and clients.”
