RSA chief welcomes tough conversations with consolidators
RSA’s UK and Western European CEO Adrian Brown has revealed that having former colleague Brendan McManus and counterpart Mark Hodges running consolidators such as Giles and Towergate respectively was a help, rather than hindrance.
"Some people have said it must be awful having them on the other side of the fence, but in my experience it really helps because it is easier to start closer together [when negotiating] and cut out some of the bullshit.
"So it makes those relationships easier in some respects, but tougher in others.
"But I would rather have a tough conversation where we understand where we are coming from. It also shows that it is a fallacy that insurers and brokers are completely different.
