AA warns fight is still on to crack down on uninsured drivers
AA Insurance has welcomed the seizure of the UK's millionth uninsured vehicle this morning - but warned the fight is still on to crack down on uninsured drivers.
The AA estimates there is still some 1.2m uninsured vehicles on Britain's roads - around one out of every 25.
And Simon Douglas, director of AA Insurance, called for heftier fines and penalties to be dished out to deter uninsured drivers from getting behind the wheel.
It comes as the The Motor Insurance Bureau (MIB) said that police in Birmingham will today seize the landmark vehicle.
