Ageas and Groupama confirm acquisition talks

People in a contract negotiation

Ageas UK and Groupama have entered into exclusive discussions regarding the sale of Groupama's UK non-life insurance business.

In a statement released by Ageas, it was confirmed that an exclusivity period for negotiations has been granted for approximately four weeks.

And it added that both parties will refrain from any further comment until talks have been concluded.

Groupama UK has endured an uncertain year following its announcement by parent company Groupama SA in January that it was looking to sell its UK offerings.
