Gallagher buys specialist broker

Arthur J. Gallagher has bought Acumus, a specialist insurance advisor providing risk consulting and insurance services to the housing association sector.

The deal, for an undisclosed sum, will see the Chelmsford-based team continue to trade as Acumus.

The broker was established in July 2006 by Huw Thomas and Mark Evans, to provide insurance and risk control services to housing associations, local authorities and ALMOs, (Arm's Length Management Companies).

According to Gallagher's its latest acquisition has based its business offering on delivering risk consulting, insurance services and risk transfer solutions.
