RWA chief blasts Biba's 'sweeping criticism' of insurers
Research from the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (Biba) which claimed insurers were becoming more difficult over paying out on claims has been deemed “spin” as opposed to “worthwhile research”.
Ian Ritchie, managing director at RWA Compliance Services, made the comments in a blog post, in which he called into question the validity of Biba’s findings.
A survey of 206 of the trade body’s members revealed that 90% of respondents believed that insurers were becoming stricter on paying claims, mainly because of the economic climate and fraud.
Mr Ritchie made the point that Biba has a membership of almost 2,000 firms, meaning the group surveyed represents only around 10% of the total
