JLT enjoys 20% profit growth
Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT) has seen its 2012 profits jump by 20% as it delivered organic growth of 7%.
Post-tax profits surged to £106.4m for 2012 (2011: £88.7m) and total revenue was also up to £880.1m from the £818.8m reported for the year before.
The broker's results were slightly tempered by the decreased growth of its UK managing general agent Thistle UK.
Thistle's total revenue for the year was 4% lower than 2011, while trading profit came in at £4m (2011: £5m).
JLT said this reflected "continued weak UK consumer and business confidence", claims inflation and "aggressive competition".
