CII apprenticeship numbers exceed 1,000 in 2012
The number of new apprentices studying Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) units and qualifications exceeded 1,000 for the first time in 2012.
The figures cover apprenticeships in England and Wales and represent an increase of more than 30% on the previous year.
Casper Bartington, CII relationship manager, said crossing the 1,000 mark was a milestone for the insurance and financial services sector.
He added: “Though the majority of recent apprentices are working in SME insurance businesses, we are beginning to see some well-known names offering technical apprenticeships for the first time.”
These names include Aon, Ageas and Chaucer.
