Biba 2013: Steve White delivers strong message to FCA's Wheatley
The British Insurance Brokers’ Association's (Biba) 2013 conference has heard from new CEO, Steve White, in his inaugural speech.
The opening speakers were introduced by Nick Robinson, political editor at the BBC, who introduced Biba delegates to economic secretary to the treasury Sajid Javid MP, a late addition to the programme.
Mr Javid said he was happy to be attending the conference in order to “recognise the contribution the insurance broking industry makes to the UK economy”.
He told the audience: “I can appreciate that the FCA’s more intrusive regulatory approach has raised some concerns.”
