Aviva commits to Perth with office purchase
Aviva has bought the Pitheavlis building in Perth, the base for 1,300 employees, in a move which the provider said affirmed its commitment to the city.
Aviva's current lease of Pitheavlis was due to expire at the end of 2014 and following a review the insurer decided to buy the property for an undisclosed sum.
The building will serve as an ongoing Centre of Excellence for Aviva's UK general insurance business.
Ian Ferguson, chief underwriting officer for Aviva's intermediary and partnerships business, works in Perth and said of today's announcement: "The purchase of the Pitheavlis building confirms Aviva's ongoing commitment to Perth.
