Coface UK and Ireland MD targets broker base expansion

The managing director of Coface UK & Ireland, Frederic Bourgeois, has spelt out his plans to reinforce and build long-term relationships with UK brokers of all sizes.

Mr Bourgeois - who joined Coface in 1990 originally as communications director - replaced Xavier Denecker towards the end of last year. 

Speaking to the press for his first time in the role at the Coface Country Risk Conference, Mr Bourgeois told Insurance Age that the credit insurance provider is keen to add to its 70 broker partners.

Almost 95% of the company's business is sold through insurers and it works with the likes of broking giants Aon, Marsh and Willis, as well as smaller, specialist

Industry reacts to discount rate change

Insurance industry specialists have welcomed the government moving the personal injury discount rate to 0.5% with PwC calculating it will lower motor premiums by £50 on average.
