FCA's decision to name firms under investigation slated as "unfair"

The Financial Conduct Authority's (FCA) decision to name firms under investigation has been criticised as "calculated to gain publicity".

The regulator previously only published information about enforcement proceedings once it had opted to take action but yesterday confirmed it would make on-going investigations public. 

But law firm CMS Cameron McKenna rounded on the decision, describing it as "unfair" and questioned the FCA's real motives.
