Former Bupa man named as Towergate Direct CEO

It follows consolidator's announcement last autumn to split its retail division into two units.

Towergate Insurance has named James Tugendhat as Towergate Direct CEO.

Tugendhat - who joins from Bupa Group - will assume the position on 10 February and report directly to group CEO Mark Hodges. He will also sit on the consolidator's executive committee.

It follows the broker's decision last autumn to split its retail division into two units, Towergate Insurance Brokers and Towergate Direct.

Towergate Direct has been geared to focus on Towergate's direct-to-consumer specialist personal lines
