Legal & General to close in Ipswich

Reports say 140 jobs are set to be cut at the Suffolk office.

Legal & General is set to close its office with the loss of 140 jobs according to reports.

The Ipswich Star reported that the closure would happen by May 2015 with roles moved to the insurer's Hove and Birmingham offices.

In total 120 jobs will move to the two sites.

According to the article, the union Unite described the announcement as "a kick in the teeth to the loyal and experienced workforce in Ipswich".
