Forensic examination revealed damage to vehicles could not have been sustained in collision described.

Eight Merseyside men have admitted to fabricating a car crash in an attempt to make more than £500,000 from fraudulent insurance claims made to LV.

Of the eight, Brian Williams, Michael Lee, Jon-Paul Realey, David Thompson and Robert Davies were sentenced yesterday at Liverpool Crown Court.

Lee and Williams were both given jail time, serving 12 months and eight months, respectively.

The other three men received suspended jail terms.
