Flood Re: Band H homes to be included
Defra confirms that band H properties are to be included in government flood insurance scheme.
Defra has confirmed that properties that fall into the council tax band H will be included in the Flood Re scheme following negotiation with the Association of British Insurers (ABI).
This will enable legislation to be laid in Parliament next year and - once approved by the financial regulators - enable Flood Re to operate as a reinsurer.
The news comes at the same time as the government publishes its response to the public consultation carried out in the summer.
