MGA opens Darlington office with six staff from Towergate-owned BIB.

Rural Insurance, the specialist agricultural insurer based in Harrogate, has opened a new office in Darlington after hiring a six-strong underwriting team from Towergate-owned BIB.

Joining the firm are James Leathley, Mark Williams, Andrew Atkinson, Holly Daniels, Kelly Shutt, and David Walker.

Rural managing director Ian Barclay said the recruitment drive and new office was a significant step in Rural's plan to become the second-ranked agricultural insurer by gross written premium in the UK.
