Wheatley regrets "shoot first" line
The FCA chief executive appears at hearing following the Davis Report.
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) chief executive Martin Wheatley said he regrets using the phrase "shoot first and ask questions later", when answering questions from lawmakers in the Treasury Committee this morning.
He uttered the phrase back in 2012 to describe how the FCA, which was launched in April 2013, would approach regulatory issues.
The line was met with concern among brokers and compliance consultants who feared the regulator would be too intrusive.

Wheatley admitted that
