Legal & General staff vote to strike over 1700 possible job cuts

Insurer promises more information about possibly relocating staff to more "cost-effective" locations.

Staff at Legal & General's (L&G) head office in Kingswood have voted in favour of strike action following the company's decision to threaten 1700 jobs.

According to Unite 68% of L&G's Unite members in Kingswood took part in the vote and 63% voted in support of taking industrial action.

The ballot asking members if they wished to strike closed on 16 September.

In response L&G has promised to provide new information about the possible relocation of staff.

The insurer confirmed its locations were
