Global Risk Partners takes Thornton from Bluefin

Neil Thornton joins Cullum-backed firm's retail broking business as managing director.

Global Risk Partners (GRP) has appointed Neil Thornton as managing director of its retail broking business.

Thornton was previously head of the commercial division at Bluefin Insurance Services and before that managing director of Smart and Cook.

The business, backed by Peter Cullum, further said he served on the board of the British Insurance Brokers' Association for many years.

In his new role Thornton will report to Mike Bruce, who was named chief executive officer of GRP's retail broking
