Insurer says Birmingham is top spot for crash-for-cash fraudsters.

Aviva has reported that it detected more than 3,000 organised crash-for-cash claimants last year, with Birmingham revealed as the top hotspot for induced accidents.

The number of accidents where fraudsters deliberately target innocent motorists to cause accidents in order to claim whiplash compensation dropped 2% in 2015, according to Aviva's figures.

However, the insurer said the number of "staged" accidents, where two damaged cars are brought together to make it look like an accident, and
