Insurer consulting on halving payouts for staff employed before April 2013.

Unite has come out against RSA's recent proposal that could see staff redundancy payouts drop from four weeks' pay per year of employment to two weeks.

The insurer confirmed last week that it had started a consultation with employees about the proposal.

Any change would affect staff employed before April 2013 with all joiners post then already on contracts with statutory redundancy terms.

The union has now urged members to come together and voice their opposition to the proposals.
