Oracle Insurance Brokers fined by the ICO
Broker fined £30,000 for sending spam text messages.
The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has fined Oracle Insurance Brokers and Silver City Tech for sending millions of spam texts offering easy access to loans.
The ICO said that Oracle Insurance Brokers was found responsible for around 136,000 texts and has been fined £30,000.
According to the authority, separate investigations into the two companies found the firms had broken the law because they did not have the consent of the people the text messages were sent to.
