Opinion: Tony Cornell reflects on his career in insurance
After 12 years of writing in Insurance Age and 57 years in the insurance industry, Tony Cornell says farewell.
I started writing my opinion column for Insurance Age in September 2004 and over the subsequent 12 years, have penned more than 150 articles.
The first article was about Norwich Union closing Hill House Hammond and moving all its business to its direct arm.
Since then the subjects have been far ranging. Looking back over this range, three interrelated themes have dominated: consolidation of the broking sector, regulation of brokers and the underwriting cycle.
