Aon reveals 1% profit rise for 2016

However profit for the fourth quarter of the year fell by 14%.

Aon has posted a 2% rise in revenue to $1.72bn [£1.38bn] for its retail division for the three months ended 31 December 2016 [Q4 2015: $1.68bn].

The revenue for the wider unit, Aon Risk Solutions, was $2.05bn for the quarter compared to $2.01bn in the same period of 2015.

Aon Risk Solutions further reported revenue of $7.49bn for the whole year of 2016, up marginally from $7.43bn in the preceding 12 months.
