Brokers could play an important role in plugging the skills gap in insurance with early educational efforts. Martyn Mathews, MD of SSP Broker, explains.

Recruitment is a problem right across the insurance industry, not least in the broking community.

A collective effort is needed to find a resolution but it won’t be a quick fix. We need to take the conversation around insurance back to the classroom and blend lessons on insurance into the overall conversation on financial literacy. In this way we could do more to attract young people to work in our sector and dispel some common misconceptions.
