In the concluding instalment of Polaris at 30, senior business analyst at the insurance industry-owned organisation Jackie Childs rounds up the progress on digital trading moving from monthly personal lines updates sent out on floppy discs to the new era of risk and rating dexterity that can only be supported electronically.
The week-long series has involved specialists from brokers, insurers and technology houses sharing their insights on the key steps in the evolution of e-trading.
Polaris was founded in 1994, and the digital trading platform Imarket was launched in 2004.
Childs tracks how there was initial scepticism of e-trading as a “five-minute wonder” and with the doubters having been proved wrong where it’s going next.
