Over 90% of Scottish Housing Association tenants are failing to
insure their household goods and personal possessions, according to Thomas
Winter Insurance, the broker which provides insurance for the Scottish
Federation of Housing Association.


The broker is trying to combat the problem with a new scheme for all
200,000 SHA tenants. The scheme allows them to insure their possessions
for 80p a week - £75 a year. It also allows them to insure their
possessions with a sum insured of only £6000 -
