Voyager launches new online offering for homeowners with unspent convictions

A man's hands sticking through prison bars

Voyager Insurance Services has launched a facility on its WEBroker online broker platform, giving access to its ‘Fresh Start’ home insurance product to nearly 1,000 brokers.

The offering from the acquisitive Somerville Group subsidiary is targeted at the estimated 750,000 people in the UK with an unspent criminal conviction. A number Voyager said is growing by 7250 a year.

The Guildford-based business claims an unspent criminal conviction is likely to invalidate most mainstream home insurance policies, and not only applies to a homeowner with a criminal conviction but also if anyone living at the residence has an unspent criminal conviction as well.
