Outsourcing is said to be very much in vogue among insurers,
particularly in the areas of information technology and e-business. IT
facilities management or IT outsourcing (ITO), web-hosting and
applications service provision (ASP) are all practical examples of this
trend. There is a great deal of discussion on the issue of business
process outsourcing (BPO) putting entire business functions into the hands
of an outside provider.
