When Chris Blackham started Layton Blackham it was, he says: "thesmallest broker in the country". The company has now succeeded in its
ambition of becoming what he describes as "the largest privately-owned
broker in the country", employing over 300 staff and earning premium
income in excess of £50m. Mr Blackham does not just think size matters, he
believes it is essential.
