Front and rear-end collisions top the league table of insurance
claims, according to a sample of 1000 cases reported to AA Insurance.
Shunts account for more than one in five claims, followed by collisions
with stationary cars or objects (one in six) crashes at crossroads and
roundabouts (one in seven) and windscreen damage (one in eight). Some 9%
of claims follow reversing manoeuvres, and just one in 14 claims involve
theft of the car, radio, accessories or personal belongings.
